The camping experience was alright, but let me tell you, the kayak trip down the river was absolutely fantastic!
Samantha Scott (2025-07-24, 1:15 a.m.):
There were far too many individuals at the campground, and regrettably, the camping experience was not very pleasant.
Elizabeth Lopez (2025-07-20, 12:41 a.m.):
I must say, I had quite the displeasure with the customer service provided at this campground. My partner and I had made an online reservation for a camping site, only to find upon arrival that the sites were uncomfortably close together, offering minimal privacy. Not exactly the idyllic setting we had hoped for our weekend tent camping getaway as a couple. The customer service representative we dealt with was unhelpful and unwilling to accommodate our request for a refund, despite us having purchased cancellation insurance. It was quite the ordeal to finally secure a reimbursement.

On a brighter note, it seemed that the canoe and kayak trips offered at this campground were a hit, as every participant we saw returning from their adventure appeared genuinely happy. Perhaps that might be a more worthwhile activity to partake in during a stay here.
Russell Lewis (2025-07-19, 6:15 p.m.):
Apologies, but the spa is rather disappointing. It appears as though it has not seen any upgrades in the past 15 years, with 50% of the facilities broken and the remainder dirty and filled with grass and sand. The kayak tour along the river could have been enjoyable, but due to the insufficient water levels, it felt more like a hiking excursion through 10 cm of water. Therefore, I recommend that you consider shortening the tour during the summer months to ensure a more enjoyable experience for participants if you wish to maintain your positive rating.
Heather Jenkins (2025-07-18, 3:57 p.m.):
Wow!!! What a stunning spot. We went for a family canoe trip on the river. The water is so clear, you can see right to the bottom. It felt completely safe navigating the river. They provide all the necessary safety measures that we must adhere to. Canoeing in Bonaventure is truly a must-do experience. We had a blast!!! You can choose between a 10-kilometer or 20-kilometer route. The experience takes around 2-4 hours depending on breaks and such. The pricing is quite reasonable as well. We didn't camp, but that could be next time for sure!
Karen Hernandez (2025-07-15, 6:34 p.m.):
This campground is an ideal spot for pitching a tent, but not so suitable for trailer camping.
Lawrence Rogers (2025-07-15, 3:29 a.m.):
Nestled in a Bohemian campground, this gem offers excellent access to the pristine Bonaventure river. The water sparkles with crystal clarity, inviting visitors to explore its beauty by kayak or canoe. We embarked on a memorable journey downstream to downtown Bonaventure in our own kayaks, an experience that was truly unforgettable. What sets this campground apart is its unique features - the open, coed washrooms, and sites equipped with roofed structures crafted from recycled billboard posters, providing shelter when needed. Additionally, charming cabins nestled among the trees add to the allure of this special place. While we didn't have the opportunity to see the interiors, their popularity – all rented out during our visit – speaks volumes about their appeal.
Barbara Patterson (2025-07-13, 11:24 p.m.):
I absolutely adored all aspects of this establishment. Every little detail has been meticulously planned out, both for the campground and the river descent. The modern organization was apparent throughout. There was no lingering around anywhere, and the campground was bustling. Everything is incredibly efficient. The site is flawless.

Each pitch has its own shelter and water supply point. Incredibly convenient. The showers are spacious and private, as are the restrooms.

The river descent is impressively well-coordinated, with clear explanations provided. We opted for the popular descent, and it was truly delightful. The river is simply stunning.
Diana Bennett (2025-07-09, 1:56 p.m.):
We had a splendid morning paddling in a canoe with this company. The experience was truly remarkable and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for an adventure in the great outdoors. Cheers!
Johnny Morales (2025-07-07, 2:57 p.m.):
Some chap suggested I have a go at kayaking here and I must say I am ever so grateful. What a splendid, marvelous experience. Top-notch service picking you up afterwards with the shuttle, and staff that are quite personable and friendly. Definitely would recommend and wouldn't think twice about going back. Cheers!
Ethan Flores (2025-07-03, 1:03 p.m.):
My shoulders are absolutely killing me. Just finished a 9 km kayak adventure.
Brittany Hamilton (2025-07-03, 12:36 p.m.):
Lovely spot, with friendly folks and a charming river pool. However, could do with a bit of a clean-up as it's attracting quite a few flies and has a slight odor.
Adam Fisher (2025-07-03, 7:43 a.m.):
Absolutely stunning river with water so clear you can see straight to the bottom. We felt completely secure and had a jolly good time during our inaugural kayaking adventure. The water temperature was perfect for a spot of swimming as well.
Virginia Thomas (2025-06-30, 5:28 a.m.):
We only went for the 2-hour kayaking adventure. The scenery was absolutely stunning, with crystal clear waters all around us. Just a heads up, make sure not to dilly-dally too much, or you might end up missing the bus back!
Matthew Ford (2025-06-28, 6:50 a.m.):
I reckon it was a jolly good time with the family, but I must say, shelling out 200 quid to drift down that dreadfully calm river was a bit steep. Nevertheless, the scenery along the river was quite lovely!
Charles Ross (2025-06-24, 4:27 p.m.):
The campground was quite a unique experience, to say the least. We found ourselves situated on a patch of land where the grass reached up to our calves, surrounded by a plethora of bugs due to our location in a small field. Our neighbors' tents were so close that we could hear every word they uttered. Despite these quirks, the campground did have its redeeming qualities, such as its originality, friendly staff, exciting kayak excursions, and commitment to eco-friendliness.
Bobby Alexander (2025-06-22, 3:24 p.m.):
It was a jolly good experience, I must say!
Daisy Brooks (2025-06-22, 12:38 p.m.):
Lovely campground overall, but oh my, the cabins can get quite toasty! With just a tiny window in the door for some ventilation, it can feel a bit stuffy at times. It would be wonderful to have a ceiling fan or something to help with the airflow.
Bobby Perry (2025-06-22, 9:46 a.m.):
Dreadful experience, I must say. The chaps canceled our grand tour without a word of warning. We arrived at the destination, completely oblivious to the cancellation, only to be left high and dry with no alternative in sight. Quite disappointing, I must say.
Rachel Cruz (2025-06-22, 9:14 a.m.):
We had the pleasure of camping at this lovely spot for 3 nights and enjoying 2 days of river activities. On the first day, we embarked on The Matinale tour, paddling 17km down the pristine Bonaventure River in kayaks. We marveled at the size of the salmon and even quenched our thirst by drinking directly from the river. The rapids were thrilling yet manageable, and the kayaks provided by CIME were incredibly stable, making us beginners look like experts! The following day, we opted for a tubing excursion, spending a leisurely 3 hours at a rapid known as Le Malin. Here, we swam downstream, leaped off ledges into the crystal-clear waters, and had an immensely enjoyable and laid-back day. If you happen to be traveling through Bonaventure as part of your tour of Gaspé, make sure to add this place to your must-visit list!
