I must say, I was quite disappointed with my recent visit to the Chocolate shop this Saturday. It seems like there might have been a change in ownership, as it has always been a delightful experience in the past. The fudge used to be presented in charming boxes with little spoons, but now it comes in plain clear plastic packaging which lacks the same charm. Not only that, but the flavor of the fudge seemed different from what we remember. We always get the same kind every year, and it just didn't taste the same. The usual lively atmosphere also felt different. We couldn't help but feel like we were being closely watched as we browsed around. This feeling was confirmed when we were about to leave. I wanted my child to take a picture with the statues at the front, but the woman working there kept giving us suspicious glances as if she feared my child would damage the statue, even though my child was just walking calmly. Overall, it was a rather uncomfortable experience.

The staff at the Chocolate Rabbit have been absolutely delightful...and extremely helpful when it comes to selecting treats. Every time. Upon revisiting the store to satisfy my craving for their incredible peanut butter cups, Lori kindly informed me that during my last visit (3 weeks prior), a $20 bill had accidentally stuck to another $20 bill that I had used to pay. She made a note of it, put it in a drawer, and returned it to me during my recent visit. AMAZING, that level of honesty paired with the scrumptious and exclusive treats they offer deserves a rating of 10 stars. Yet another reason why it's now my ultimate go-to chocolate shop. If you find yourself in Bankcroft, make sure to pay a visit here. I always make a point to stop by when I am in the vicinity. The fudge is incredibly creamy and they offer a fantastic variety. Additionally, there are delightful unique gifts available inside. It would truly be a missed opportunity if you don't sample their fudge.
During my visit in September 2022, I noticed that the fudge factory has been transformed into the Chocolate Rabbit. Although it's not quite the same, I discovered a fudge shop in Manooth that carries the identical fudge as the original fudge factory.

My daughter and I had the pleasure of visiting the Bancroft Gemboree yesterday, making the journey up from Petawawa. On our way back home, we decided to grab a bite to eat and stumbled upon The Chocolate Rabbit. What a fantastic find it turned out to be! We couldn't resist picking up some truffles and fudge to enjoy after our lunch. Let me tell you, we were absolutely thrilled that we did. We started with the truffles right in the car at the parking lot, haha! Oh, what a delightful experience it was!
Then, we moved on to the fudge, and let me tell you, it was like heaven in our mouths! We have never encountered such velvety, melt-in-your-mouth fudge before. The truffles were spot on as well - the perfect balance of crispness and softness with incredible flavors. We've been raving about your shop to anyone who will listen. Some of the regulars at the Gemboree had no idea about your hidden gem, and we're happy to spread the word.
In a way, I'm glad that you're not closer to us because we'd surely end up gaining 500 pounds with all those tempting treats! Your craftsmanship in creating these delicious delights is truly commendable, and we'll definitely make a point to visit whenever we're in the area. The truffles may not be the most budget-friendly, but their exquisite quality truly justifies the price.
