They’ve truly lost a loyal customer. We had rented a lovely cottage this year and on November 11th, we informed them of our desire to book the same cottage for the same weeks in 2021. The very next day, I received a call from Josh informing me that there was another party interested in our weeks, but he would give us priority. I explained that I needed to coordinate with 3 families before confirming, and while I was 99% sure, I needed a bit more time to confirm with everyone. Despite my efforts over the weekend, I couldn’t get all confirmations, so I followed up on Monday morning. This morning at 10:32 am, an email from CottageRentals 247 arrived, asking if I had made a decision yet. I promptly replied at 10:40 am requesting more time due to one family member being unreachable. At 11:51 am, I confirmed my weeks, only to receive a response at 12:03 stating the cottage had been booked by someone else. I was left speechless. I called the office and spoke to Joanna, who confirmed it was rented out and advised me to talk to Josh, who was currently unavailable. After not hearing back, I called again at 3:15 pm. Josh was now available but hadn’t returned my call. He nonchalantly mentioned that Joanna had sent the email and went ahead with the rental. I expressed my disappointment at their unprofessional behavior, emphasizing that regardless of who sent the email, it was on behalf of their company, and they should honor the commitment made to me. Josh remained unapologetic, showed rudeness, and refused to keep their promise to me. If possible, I would rate them lower than 1 star. Stay away from doing business with CottageRentals 247.

It's quite amusing to see their sudden change in tone on a public platform. Don’t be deceived, folks. Their version is far from accurate. Why would I bother writing this if it weren’t true? I have no personal gain; I simply wish to share my experience so others can be fully aware. They asked if 24 hours was sufficient, not as a courteous gesture as they claim, but knowing well that I had to coordinate with 3 families and might need longer. I have their Monday morning email asking if I still wanted the cottage, only to be told an hour later that it was too late. Their conduct lacked both courtesy and professionalism. Although we had a wonderful time at the cottage last year, it was in no way due to them. The cottage owners are fantastic. Regrettably, they opted for an unethical and unprofessional booking agency.

AVOID RENTING FROM THESE INDIVIDUALS! My family and I have been renting cottages from this company for about 17 years now. Each year we have encountered issues with 24-7, however, we continued using their services due to the availability of some lovely cottages, despite Josh's lack of professionalism. Last year was the worst experience by far, as we were promised (by the owner, Josh) first choice on one of THREE cottages for the week we had in mind. We were guaranteed that we would secure one of the three cottages without fail. Upon our next interaction with him, we discovered that ALL of the cottages had already been rented out. We were extremely upset, and when we confronted Josh about breaking his promise, he became defensive and snide. If you come across any negative reviews apart from mine (and there are MANY), pay attention to Josh's hostile attitude and refusal to accept any responsibility. Undoubtedly, he will respond to this review in a self-righteous and aggressive manner as well. I strongly advise you to avoid doing business with them.

My family and I stayed at a lovely cottage on Stimears Lake for a week in June 2018, and we had quite an interesting experience. We rented Cottage #424 at 22 Towes Rd and were charged $206.50 out of our $1000 damage deposit for scratches on the stairs. However, these scratches were already there when we did our initial walk-through. We even joked about how big the dog must have been to make such marks! Our Siberian Husky, who is a small dog, and our friends' Keeshond dogs wouldn't have been able to create those scratches.
When I contacted Cottage Rentals 247, they mentioned that the owner and cleaner claimed the scratches were not pre-existing, so we were obligated to cover the damages. I inquired if the rental company had conducted their own walkthrough, but they explained they have too many cottages to do so, relying on the owner's word instead. I insisted that the damages were there beforehand, but they stood firm on the owner's assertion.
The stair damage seemed significant and had clearly been repaired multiple times from a large animal scratching them. We even joked that it resembled a bear's handiwork! The owner also accused us of accessing their personal closet, which was actually wide open with the lights on when we arrived, along with the bedroom and ensuite doors. The refusal to acknowledge our concerns about physical harm caused by glass on the beach, especially to children, was disheartening.
Moreover, we were promised kitchen towels and cleaning supplies, none of which were provided, forcing us to purchase our own. The bedroom door downstairs wouldn't latch properly, inconveniencing the other couple staying there. Despite paying $3600 for the week, the overall state of the cottage did not meet the standards promised, yet we received no refund for these numerous issues.
It seems this rental company has a pattern of unfair charges and neglecting guest concerns based on other reviews.
