I highly recommend Tri City Tank Tech. I called Tri City because my friend Carol K used them and she was very pleased with their service. Phil and Saki arrived promptly at my house and were able to quickly identify where the tank was located. They gave me a quote for removal of the tank, disposal of water and tank materials, labor, and they recommended I choose my own environmental testing company which I think is very wise. Their rates looked good and they expertly got my old rusty 7-foot tank out of the ground in about 1/2 a day. We then arranged for Method Environmental Services to come and get samples of the soil once the tank was out. They take 5 samples from different areas of the dig. You can choose to get results back within 24 hours or 5 -7 days for a cheaper price if you are not in a hurry. I chose the 24-hour option because I did not want to have the hole exposed to rain for 7-10 days. I got my results back the next day at 5 pm and I was so pleased there were no traces of oil or contamination. Whew!!! I am so fortunate the previous owners of my house had not left a tank full of oil for me to deal with.
I found the staff (shout out to Kat, Kaz, and Sam) with Tri City Tank very knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and they got the tank out of the ground with the precision of a dentist extracting a tooth. My tank was full of holes, rusty, and it was as thin and fragile as a broken potato chip. They had all the right tools to dig the hole, pump out all the water, dispose of the water and the tank debris, cut off the breather pipe, fill the hole, cut the fence, and put the fence back together. I am so pleased with the work Tri City did with this removal. I highly recommend them. I felt they were very compassionate & understanding how stressful it is dealing with removing an abandoned rusty old buried oil tank. I trusted them and my trust was well placed. If there was contaminated soil Method Environmental would have advised the next steps and give you options on what to do to deal with this situation. I would use Tri City again should the need arise.
