If I could give this Shoppers 0 stars, I would but Google insists you rate at least one star. There are ALWAYS long lines of customers at the Pharmacy and lots of staff behind the counters but only ONE staff assisting customers. The others are chatting and hanging around behind the counter. When I call the pharmacy for assistance, I never get a live person answering the phone. They pick up the call and then put you ON HOLD immediately. They don't even ASK if they can put you on hold or assess why you are calling. It could be an urgent issue but they just automatically put you on hold. I have waited on hold for over 45 minutes AGAIN this morning and AM THOROUGHLY DISGUSTED with this pharmacy. They have HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Actually, there is NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Gerald Foster (2025-06-21, 2:27 a.m.):
The dispensing fee for medication is just too exorbitant at Shoppers.
Peter Perez (2025-06-20, 2:52 p.m.):
The ladies at the pharmacy are simply dreadful and seem to lack any semblance of customer service skills. I phoned to confirm they had received my doctor's fax for my prescription, and the woman who answered was quite rude and sounded quite bothered. During another visit to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription, I was met with rudeness - it felt as though I was disturbing her day.
I consistently approach interactions with a smile and politeness, yet I am always met with unkindness at this particular location. Furthermore, during one visit when I went to collect my prescription, Betty Anne mistakenly referred to a different last name for my prescription. When I attempted to correct her, she became snappy and rude with me - truly uncalled for!
Having filled prescriptions at various other locations for many years, I had high hopes for this location, but after a couple of unpleasant experiences, I have made the decision not to return. I found their service disappointing and was quite upset by how I was treated. The pharmacist was the only individual there who displayed politeness and professionalism.
If you are contemplating visiting this establishment, I strongly advise against it! Take the time to drive a bit further and ensure you are treated with the respect you rightly deserve.
Ralph Mitchell (2025-06-19, 5:04 p.m.):
The employee at the post office within Shoppers was quite rude and condescending. She declined to accept my package due to her scanner's inability to read the printed label. Despite having shipped items to various places without any issue, she insisted this had been the protocol for over a year. I have never encountered such resistance elsewhere. As a result, I have decided not to visit this particular Shoppers location again.
Linda Thompson (2025-06-19, 4:46 a.m.):
Oi mate, had a right ol' wait at the pharmacy, staff seemed clueless, put me on hold then hung up on me. All I wanna do is get me prescription refilled, made even more complicated by switching pharmacies. Still sticking with Shoppers Drug Mart though.
Elizabeth Walker (2025-06-16, 9:01 p.m.):
The service at this pharmacy is rather sluggish when it comes to dispensing medications. If they inform you that the wait time is 15-1 hour, be sure to allocate 2-3 hours for the process.
Barbara Evans (2025-06-15, 4:40 p.m.):
Pharmacy pickup is as slow as molasses in January.
Philip Foster (2025-06-15, 3:00 p.m.):
The cosmetics department is absolutely dreadful! I practically informed my spouse that it was high time for correction rather than prevention... HA! I shall be lodging a formal complaint with the head office. Gina & Deb seem to be stuck in a time warp from a decade or two ago and are no longer qualified to dispense advice. It's about time for some younger blood! The one redeeming quality is that my spouse will revisit the store when Laura is on duty, as she is at least amiable and doesn't overstep her bounds.
Angela Brooks (2025-06-14, 3:26 p.m.):
This Shoppers Drug Mart store is fabulous. It has a wide range of products and is always well-stocked. The cleanliness and tidiness are top-notch. The only downside is the customer service at the Pharmacy, which could be improved (a frequent complaint among customers).
Martha Brown (2025-06-10, 1:32 a.m.):
I absolutely adore this place, I've never had a negative experience here. Sometimes I just come to take a leisurely stroll and delight in admiring everything.
Beverly Ross (2025-06-07, 7:06 p.m.):
Top-notch customer service every time!
David Adams (2025-06-03, 5:29 p.m.):
The chaps at the chemist shop are dreadfully sluggish and drowsy, frightfully impolite and lacking in professionalism.
Mary Reynolds (2025-05-31, 12:11 a.m.):
This Shoppers Drug Mart offers a wide range of products from beauty items to baby essentials, groceries, healthcare products, and gifts. The store is clean and well-stocked. However, I have noticed that the prices are consistently higher than those at Zehrs, which can be somewhat frustrating considering they are both owned by Loblaws. As a result, I tend to only make purchases here when there is a good deal available or if I am unable to find the item elsewhere.
Thomas Torres (2025-05-30, 9:05 a.m.):
My favourite Pharmacy and the manager is friendly and knowledgeable. I have always had good experiences here.
Charlotte Brown (2025-05-25, 8:54 p.m.):
I've been frequenting this place ever since I relocated to Alliston a few years back, and I must say, I've never been let down. The staff is super friendly!
Mark Foster (2025-05-22, 4:05 a.m.):
The team is brilliant, navigation is a breeze, extremely accommodating and welcoming, plus the staff are approachable and well-informed.
Carolyn Turner (2025-05-21, 2:10 p.m.):
Gwen was always so lovely and caring, even when SDM was bustling. I haven't laid eyes on her in a spell, and it seems the current staff has taken a turn for rudeness. I comprehend they're occupied, but when an error with a prescription is on SDM's end, and you politely request a correction, it's disheartening to encounter such impoliteness, especially after numerous attempts. To have them misplace, mishandle, or misconstrue a prescription you've relied on for ages is just not on. And when they abruptly hang up as if the issue is yours alone, it truly is disheartening. I maintained my composure—I simply wished to clarify how to avoid future mishaps. I still treated them with kindness, giving them the benefit of the doubt that perhaps they were enduring a rough day, but there's no excuse for their insolence. I trust Gwen is still part of the team; otherwise, I may have to switch to a pharmacy that values their clients' well-being and concerns.
Janet Rodriguez (2025-05-21, 11:36 a.m.):
The typical shoppers at Drug Mart. Extremely clean and polite service.
Lauren Hall (2025-05-17, 4:21 a.m.):
The approximate wait time for medications is nearly an hour, and it seems like they deliberately do this to encourage you to spend more money while waiting! The customer service is terrible, and the pharmacy staff are consistently rude. They also do not prioritize keeping your medication information confidential. I will never return to get my prescription there again, especially since they always give me a hard time about the medication I'm on, even though it's the same type and amount every week. It's quite unsettling. The lady named Gwen at the pharmacy is particularly dreadful. I've had to deal with her multiple times, and each time has been absolutely awful, from her rude demeanor to her general attitude. Nobody should have to endure this. She always seems to look down on people who require specific medications, considering them lesser beings than herself. I vow to avoid that place unless it's a dire emergency on a Sunday. One star is far too generous – more like 0.5 out of 10, or even 0 out of 10. I know many others who share these sentiments and have faced similar experiences numerous times. I recommend seeking assistance at Remedys in the Alliston Physicians Office. The wait times are always 5 to 10 minutes at most, the staff is friendly, always willing to explain your medications, and incredibly helpful. It's no surprise that the lady who used to work at Shoppers Drug Mart has now joined Remedys – she left as soon as she could, and she's fantastic!
