I absolutely adore this establishment, the portions are generous, the ambiance is perfect for either a family outing or a cozy romantic dinner. The customer service is top-notch!! I highly recommend it to everyone!

Jolly good service all round and jolly good grub as well, what what!
William Butler (2025-07-26, 11:02 a.m.):
The service is excessively prolonged and furthermore, they offer placemats for the little ones to doodle on, yet seem unwilling to supply a pencil. Not impressive...and the pricing leaves much to be desired.

I popped in yesterday, July 29, for some takeout. All I ordered was a large chocolate banana crepe. But when I got back to my place, I realized it was just a small pancake and not even half a banana... quite a letdown considering it set me back $20 with tips.

I am a regular at Ben & Florentine. Every week, I dine at the downtown Montreal location (Mansfield & Cathcart) and occasionally visit the one in Longueuil (Ch. Chambly).

We made a stop at Ange-Gardien yesterday on our way to see friends in Bromont.

Let me tell you, I adore the channel and I know my way around it.

This restaurant just doesn't meet the mark! Here are 3 reasons why.

1) Time... upon arrival, there is a notice in the window stating there may be a long wait due to staff shortages.

Alright, this is a pervasive issue affecting everything.

In total, a solid 45 minutes pass between ordering and being served. We're in a busy period, but not to the extent where there's a standstill.

Meanwhile, I had 2, yes 2, waitresses serving me coffee very frequently... needless to say, I was quite "speedy" on my way out. And, I spot another waitress who seems to spend nearly 100% of her time assembling small utensil and placemat kits.

And here's where I connect with the sign at the entrance... labor shortage or incompetence? It's fine to post a sign to set expectations... but one must also ensure to manage perception... because in this instance... the sign ends up contributing to a more critical viewpoint.

After all, what business or company isn't facing the same issue these days. In the end, I'll choose the one that handles it best, not the one relying on an 8.5x11 sheet in the window.

2) Quality; My partner and I both order a pan... On hers, the avocado isn't sliced... on mine, it is but it's not very fresh (more brown than green).

3) Accuracy; I'm lactose intolerant. So I request my pan without cheese. Yet, I find bits of cheese here and there in the potatoes. Makes you wonder if they tried to remove them and missed a few.

This mishap only caused me minor discomfort. Thankfully, I'm not allergic.

In short... I do enjoy Ben & Florentine and will continue to go there... however, I won't be making Ange Gardien a pitstop on my way to Bromont or Granby.

Top-notch service, consistently efficient.
Carolyn Green (2025-07-21, 7:13 p.m.):
Brilliant, absolutely smashing!
Anna Sullivan (2025-07-18, 6:09 p.m.):
During these challenging times of short staffing, I just wanted to give a big shoutout to the lovely ladies who served my little (big) daughter and me with such a warm smile. There was always someone checking in to ensure we had everything we needed. Great job, ladies – we will definitely be returning! Gisèle
Jeffrey Torres (2025-07-17, 4:12 a.m.):
Marvelous service, scrumptious fare, delightful ambiance! Lunch may be a tad pricey, but in line with the rest of the establishments in this network. We were all jolly pleased to dine there.
Charlotte Hamilton (2025-07-13, 3:10 p.m.):
The eggs are terribly tiny... Unprecedented! Yet another downside is the preparation of the potatoes. A few are scorching hot while others are icy cold on the same platter... Quite peculiar!
Debra Diaz (2025-07-11, 5:33 p.m.):
The service was top-notch, the plating was absolutely exquisite, and the flavors were simply divine.
Janice Garcia (2025-07-11, 2:37 p.m.):
Excellent service, I must say! The server was incredibly pleasant. The meal was absolutely scrumptious, just as it always is!
Richard Perez (2025-07-07, 10:30 p.m.):
There was a long wait at the entrance with barely ten people in sight. Eventually when we were seated, we were promptly offered coffee despite there being only two staff members buzzing around. In the end, I decided to leave. The issue wasn't just the shortage of staff, but also the overall experience.
Marilyn Green (2025-07-03, 8:27 a.m.):
Great food, excellent service but I would have appreciated a coffee machine.... Just one coffee though.
Allison Roberts (2025-07-01, 11:08 a.m.):
Quite splendid cuisine
Service a tad sluggish owing to short-staffing predicament
Heartfelt reception
Roy Hayes (2025-07-01, 2:57 a.m.):
Grinning servers and excellent service. Lovely spot!
Alexander Thompson (2025-06-28, 6:34 p.m.):
Very welcoming staff indeed, serving up some top-notch cuisine.
Amelia Sullivan (2025-06-28, 11:56 a.m.):
Brilliant experience! Top-notch service. Tasty grub. Spotlessly clean.
Aaron Roberts (2025-06-27, 5:48 p.m.):
A tad sluggish on the service front... bit short-handed but still rather decent.
Donald Gonzales (2025-06-27, 11:23 a.m.):
Absolutely splendid and exceptional service, jolly good indeed!
