It's alright, but not as good as it used to be.
There seems to be a lack of regional products to explore.
The Migneron potatoes are too large.
A standout dish is missing, both in savory and sweet categories.
However, the service provided by a very attentive and kind gentleman (quite elderly) is exceptional, as well as the coffee.
On the other hand, another server, who is younger, should be informed that we say "sit" instead of "sit down."

Outstanding service from our waitress Catherine Levesque. We had a splendid evening! There were a few delightful surprises for us, and let's not forget the exceptional quality of the meats. Thank you so much! 🙏🏻☺️

One of the dining establishments at the Germain Hotel. Upon our arrival, the space was devoid of other patrons and remained so until our departure. We had made a reservation for 11:00, and although we arrived promptly at that time, the waiter who greeted us claimed it was 11:11. This individual exuded an air of severity. Disheartened by the aloof and disagreeable demeanor exhibited by this individual, we opted to depart. Our expectations for the Germain Hotel were regrettably unmet.

I would give this restaurant a flawless rating! The welcome, service, quality of the offerings, and wine pairings with an exceptional sommelier were all fit for royalty. I wholeheartedly recommend this place and will most certainly be returning! Cheers!

The food was satisfactory, no complaints there. However, we found this restaurant to be quite pricey for the value offered. It's easy to surpass $100-120 once you factor in drinks. Additionally, your beverage options are limited to their in-house microbrewery beers – there are no other choices available! In terms of service, the staff was pleasant, but the waiter we had was far from outstanding. In conclusion, I wouldn't suggest this place due to its high prices, restricted beer selection, and overall average ambiance.

My partner and I had a delightful time at Les Labors restaurant. The vegetables are sourced straight from their own garden on-site.

The appetizers and the chef's surprise were delicious, as were our main dishes. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience.
Brandon James (2025-06-19, 4:00 a.m.):
The buffet had a good variety of options, which we enjoyed, but we felt that the flavors and ingredients were a bit basic. Considering the abundance of wonderful local produce, we were hoping for higher quality, but it was decent.

Oh, I absolutely adored the food at this place! The flavors were incredibly well balanced, and the service was top-notch. The atmosphere was lovely with a stunning view, and the staff were so friendly. The comfort food was simply delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.

On the evening of July 24, 2024, my partner and I enjoyed an unforgettable dinner. It was absolutely perfect. We were lucky enough to have a chat with the sommelier, Mr. Christian Beaupré, a true expert with a passion for his craft who shared some fascinating stories with us. He was really charming! Our server, Anna, went out of her way to ensure we had a fantastic experience. She was incredibly attentive and made us feel truly valued. Always wearing a radiant smile for all her guests. We wish her all the best for the upcoming academic year and continued success in her second year of architecture! The food was outstanding and the wine selection was truly impressive. Well done!

We popped into the lunch buffet this morning. The grub was top-notch, but they really need to sort out their service. The person at the front desk keeps disappearing for ages, leaving customers hanging around for what feels like an eternity. Sometimes they'll return, glance at their notes, and then bugger off without acknowledging those who've been waiting 10-15 minutes. A simple "we'll be with you shortly" would go a long way. And don't even get me started on the cafe waitstaff. It took ages just to get a cuppa. When it came time to settle the bill and scarper, it was a nightmare trying to flag down a server. After finishing our meal, we must've waited a good 20 minutes before taking matters into our own hands and seeking out someone in the kitchen to process our payment. Seeing us up and about, other patrons followed suit, suggesting they'd also been twiddling their thumbs for quite some time. In a nutshell, the nosh was spot-on, but the service left a lot to be desired. I get that they might be short-staffed, and everyone's doing their best, but they really need to up their game in the hospitality department!

Great selection. Enjoyable 10% discount for locals. Emphasis on local ingredients. Impressive. Lovely dining room ambiance with art. Pleasant background music. Inviting. A major WOW factor!
Sharon Hughes (2025-06-13, 9:45 p.m.):
The ambience was cozy, the service was impeccable, and the price was fair for the overall experience. I truly appreciated the addition of the tuna dishes, they were absolutely delightful. Thank you!
David Cooper (2025-06-12, 2:52 p.m.):
We had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at this delightful establishment not once, but twice! The buffet offered all the classic breakfast essentials: eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, and a selection of cold cuts. They also had freshly sliced crusty bread, platters of fresh fruit, an array of cheeses, yogurt, cereal, premade pancakes, pastries, and more. And let's not forget the unlimited and excellent coffee service.

The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly. It's advisable to make a reservation in advance, and ensure to confirm your preferred seating time. We particularly enjoyed sitting by the window, with views overlooking the farm.
Richard Baker (2025-06-11, 11:05 p.m.):
Upon visiting this establishment, I must admit I had some reservations due to the mixed reviews it had received. However, upon experiencing it firsthand, I am truly puzzled by the negativity. Our server, Marie, was absolutely delightful - friendly, charming, and attentive, which truly enhanced our evening. Despite the common issue of understaffing in many restaurants, we did not feel its effects thanks to Marie's impeccable service.

It is worth noting that this restaurant offers a delightful lunch buffet, and the food is simply delicious. For dinner, we indulged in starters such as Asian beef tataki, foie gras pâté, and tuna carpaccio, followed by exquisite duck and lamb dishes, and desserts that perfectly rounded off the meal. The wine selection was superb, making it a truly memorable dining experience. Additionally, they prioritize working with local producers to craft their dishes, adding an extra layer of authenticity to their offerings.

In my opinion, the restaurant's rating of 3.8 falls short and should be closer to a 4.5. Furthermore, the royal cake was a standout treat that captivated our taste buds with its rich chocolate flavor without being overly sweet.
Jordan Alexander (2025-06-11, 9:58 p.m.):
One of the finest dining establishments in Baie-Saint-Paul, boasting a magnificent vista of the mountains, fields, and river. Their menu highlights locally sourced, seasonal ingredients, truly capturing the essence of the region. And let me tell you, the Pouding chômeur is an absolute must-try!
Kathryn Allen (2025-06-10, 12:45 a.m.):
I highly recommend this place, everything is top-notch and they really showcase local products. The only downside is that the coffee can sometimes be a bit overroasted, so here's hoping that more good restaurants start using local roasters that know how to treat coffee right.
Raymond Brown (2025-06-07, 7:44 p.m.):
First time at this establishment, but we had heard so much about their brunch. There were five of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! Charming ambiance. We will definitely be returning in the near future.
Christine Sullivan (2025-06-07, 8:52 a.m.):
Just popped in for dinner! We were a party of 8 and the staff were incredibly welcoming right off the bat, very patient and took the time to walk us through the menu. We had some little ones with us as well and everyone loved the food. We opted for some sharing plates and the table d'hôte. The portion sizes were generous and the flavors were fantastic. I started with the land and sea dish, followed by the Jerusalem artichoke tortellini. We also tried the lobster bisque, the enclosure, and the halibut main. The food was outstanding and I would definitely return.

Big shoutout to the bartender, the Manhattan was expertly crafted!
Jack Roberts (2025-06-04, 11:23 p.m.):
It's always a pleasure to visit this establishment. The cuisine is top-notch and the service is truly exceptional.
Carl Long (2025-06-04, 4:55 p.m.):
First and foremost, allow me to extend my sincere apologies for my rather embarrassing blunder. I seemed to have gotten the reservation date all muddled up, resulting in a bit of a no-show on my part. Nevertheless, we managed to rectify the situation by visiting the establishment the following day.

I must say, I was absolutely enamored by the ambiance and décor of the place. Opting for the seafood tasting menu for two, we were truly taken aback by the sheer generosity of the portions. Every dish was simply impeccable, showcasing an array of exquisite Quebec products - a definite bonus in my book. And let's not even get started on the sinful delight that was the dessert.

The amiable waitress also provided us with some excellent recommendations for wine pairings, adding another layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. All in all, this place is definitely worth the visit for a memorable culinary journey. Five stars from me!
