Exploring Metro Plouffe in Bedford, Quebec

Metro Plouffe is a well-known supermarket located in the heart of Bedford, Quebec. Despite its reputation, customer experiences vary widely. Here’s an overview of what to expect when visiting this establishment.

Accessibility Features

Metro Plouffe provides a wheelchair-accessible entrance and has designated wheelchair-accessible parking spaces. This ensures that all customers, regardless of mobility challenges, can access the store comfortably.

Food Offerings

The supermarket offers a range of products, including great produce and prepared foods. However, customer reviews suggest that while the selection may be good, the quality can sometimes fall short. Shoppers have reported finding vegetables that are not fresh, with instances of moldy or rotten items in the produce section. Despite this, many appreciate the store's clean and organized layout.

Service Options

### In-Store Pick-Up and Delivery For added convenience, Metro Plouffe offers in-store pick-up and delivery services, which can be particularly beneficial for busy shoppers. However, customers have noted that the delivery service is nearly non-existent, which could pose a problem for those relying on it. ### Payment Methods Customers can make payments using cash, debit cards, and credit cards. While the store accommodates various payment options, some shoppers express frustration over high prices, indicating that they often feel the need to seek more affordable alternatives in neighboring towns.

Organic Products and Recycling Initiatives

While some customers express a desire for more organic products, the store does provide options for eco-conscious shoppers. Additionally, the supermarket participates in recycling initiatives, promoting environmentally friendly practices.

Customer Experience Highlights

Metro Plouffe is known for having a mixed customer service experience. Some patrons commend the staff for being friendly and helpful, particularly in the meat department. However, others report feeling unwelcome, noting a lack of smiles and engagement from employees. Despite the challenges highlighted by locals, many agree that the supermarket serves as a vital resource for the community, offering a reasonable variety of products for essential needs.

A tad pricey, yet a wide array of choices and top-notch customer service.

The sole grocery store in this small town, you can't beat it.
Jonathan Rivera (2025-07-27, 4:09 a.m.):
This Quebec Metro is by far one of the worst I've laid eyes on in my 68 years of existence. No need to say more, mate.

The prices are a bit steep and the vegetables and fruits are nearly on the verge of being spoiled. The service is satisfactory, but don't count on receiving a smile.
Stephanie Murphy (2025-07-23, 1:58 a.m.):
Decent store for a little town. They've got nearly everything you need.
Walter Ford (2025-07-21, 12:23 p.m.):
I am quite disappointed with the vegetable department at this supermarket. On multiple occasions, I have opened packages (such as beans) only to find that over half of them were rotten and had to be thrown away. It is disheartening to waste hard-earned money (over $3 for this package), especially considering that this is the only grocery store in our small town.

I suppose I will have to start making the drive to Cowansville to spend my money at Super C or Giant Tiger. It seems that even Giant Tiger has fresher vegetables than this store. It's a sad situation, very sad indeed.
Aaron Nelson (2025-07-17, 5:42 a.m.):
On several occasions, I've encountered a shortage of specialty items at the supermarket. Additionally, there have been instances where the price label on meat is incorrect, displaying a lower-priced variety but charging for a more expensive one. The same issue has occurred with frozen products being swapped out for different items on promotion. It's advisable to carefully review your receipts as discrepancies may arise.

Diane Lewis (2025-07-11, 4:02 p.m.):
Excellent assortment of goods, with a vast space and a wide variety of craft beers. I do wish there was a more convenient way to transport my purchases from the basket to the car without needing to transfer them.
Adam Cruz (2025-07-10, 7:23 p.m.):
The staff at this establishment were exceptionally friendly and accommodating!
Patrick Diaz (2025-07-09, 10:35 a.m.):
My daughter actually works at Supermarket... I must say, hats off to the owners for supporting our young ones by offering student employment throughout the year. A truly respectable establishment with a diverse range of products to cater to all needs... The staff is extremely polite and always ready to assist.

"We seem to be experiencing some difficulty accessing the site at the moment."
Gabriel Sanders (2025-07-05, 12:20 p.m.):
Excellent variety of fresh produce, mate.
Gerald Jenkins (2025-07-04, 7:06 p.m.):
They ended up charging me full price for 2 items that were supposed to be on sale in my shopping cart! The first one caught my eye right away. After I had to bring someone to the spot where the item was located, they adjusted the price to 50% off. When I mentioned that according to the law it should have been free, the young cashier didn't seem to understand what I was saying. Later, when I checked the receipt at home, I realized that I was charged the regular price for the cream cheese package that was supposed to have a $1 discount! I'm really frustrated. I don't reside in the Bedford area and was just passing by, so there's no chance of returning to sort things out. Beware, locals!
