Geek Squad Computer Repair Service in Coquitlam, British Columbia

In today’s digital world, having access to reliable computer repair services is essential. Geek Squad, located in Coquitlam, British Columbia, offers a range of computer repair solutions. However, customer experiences have painted a mixed picture about the quality of their services.

Accessibility Features

One significant advantage of the Geek Squad location in Coquitlam is its wheelchair-accessible entrance and wheelchair-accessible car park. These features reflect a commitment to ensuring that all customers can access their services, promoting inclusivity in technology support.

Service Options Available

Geek Squad provides various on-site services for customers who prefer to have technicians come to their location. This can be a convenient option for those with mobility challenges or those looking to save time. Additionally, customers can benefit from online appointments, making it easier to schedule a visit without lengthy wait times.

Customer Feedback Highlights

Despite the accessible features, many customers have reported troubling experiences with Geek Squad. Comments reveal a consistent pattern of dissatisfaction, particularly regarding customer service. Many have faced long wait times on the phone and unhelpful representatives. For instance, one frustrated user mentioned waiting nearly an hour just to be told to contact another department for pricing details. Such experiences raise concerns about the effectiveness of the support provided to customers seeking help with their devices.

Warranty and Protection Plans

Customers often opt for Geek Squad due to their protection plans, but reviews indicate a lack of clarity and value. One customer expressed disappointment over the inability to use their protection plan after subscription cancellation without notice. Another reviewer shared their frustration about paying over $800 in additional coverage, only to find little support during repairs. These experiences highlight the importance of understanding what protection plans entail before committing any funds.

Quality of Repairs

Many customers have reported inefficiencies when seeking repairs. One account described the hassle of dealing with multiple repairs for the same issue, leading to immense frustration. When it comes to getting devices fixed promptly, several users noted delays in service, with some waiting weeks for their equipment to be returned. Unfortunately, this has led some to question whether utilizing Geek Squad's services is worth the time and money invested.

Conclusion

While Geek Squad in Coquitlam provides accessibility features along with a range of service options, the overall feedback indicates that they still have room for improvement. It is crucial for potential customers to weigh the pros and cons carefully and consider alternative options if past experiences are any indication of future service quality. In summary, while Geek Squad aims to assist customers with their computer repair needs, the satisfaction levels vary significantly, emphasizing the importance of attentive customer service and transparent communication.

I was on hold for ages just to be told by the Geek that I need to get in touch with customer service for pricing? Excuse me?
Brandon Jenkins (2025-06-03, 7:07 a.m.):
Absolutely dreadful customer service experience
Anna Garcia (2025-06-01, 7:03 p.m.):
So, I bought meself a laptop with 2 years o' full protection. Managed to damage the screen durin' that time, but because o' the blasted covid I was relyin' on me computer fer remote work and school (they wouldn't even give me a loaner). After the warranty plan expired, I kept gettin' charged o'er $20 a month. Was told there would be a decent discount for repairs. I went into a Best Buy to bring it in (still durin' covid) and there was a line longer than the River Thames, so I turned tail and left. Kept gettin' charged the $20/month. Gave 'em a call today to see if there would be a discount on repairin' a cracked screen and was told no, so I canceled the plan.

I've spent o'er $800 (beyond the 2 years o' full warranty + Best Buy protection) in additional coverage, which was the biggest waste because there ain't even a discount on replacin' the cracked screen.

Never buyin' another laptop or GeekSquad through Best Buy again, mark me words.

These chaps 'ave no idea 'ow to sort out yer computer, and the fees they charge are as steep as Big Ben! After they've done a spot of testing on yer device, they'll try to rope you into joinin' their membership scheme. Best steer clear of that, mate, 'cause it'll end up costin' you even more dosh, and you can't back out until you've coughed up for a year's worth of membership. They'll always keep you waitin' ages for a response, and come up with all sorts of excuses to wrangle more tests and fees outta ya.
Ethan Bennett (2025-05-23, 9:22 a.m.):
The most dreadful customer service experience of my life, I must say. I concur with others who claim they snatch your money without providing the services. I was just in an online chat with a customer service representative, and she abruptly terminated the chat while I was posing questions. I do hope the head office takes note of this review and gets in touch with me as I have the chat saved. Buyer beware.
Timothy Davis (2025-05-22, 8:12 a.m.):
It took ova a month to get mah telly back from repair. 'ad extended warranty an' all. Instead o' replacin' me telly, they spent $800 to fix a $1600 telly from near 2 years ago.
Theresa Gomez (2025-05-21, 11:37 p.m.):
Top-notch customer service, I must say.
Abigail Gutierrez (2025-05-21, 3:29 p.m.):
"Phone service is a complete waste of time, they really ought to make this more efficient, don't you think?"
Grace Long (2025-05-21, 2:46 p.m.):
Absolutely MENTAL, mate. Just grabbed meself a brand spankin' new computer today, only to find out they've gone and bungled me name and slapped a password on it. Right buggered up, innit? And wouldn't ya know it, I need the thing for tomorrow and now I can't even get into it! Gave Geek Squad a bell and the bloke on the other end reckons there's bugger all he can do 'cause of that blasted password. Now I've got to haul me arse back to the shop, with no bloody time to spare. Top notch customer service, ain't it? Sheesh.
Adam White (2025-05-17, 12:57 a.m.):
The customer service is absolutely dreadful; you're shelling out a hefty sum for zilch. It's more worthwhile to toss your dosh in the bin than fork it over to them.
Beverly Nguyen (2025-05-06, 2:50 p.m.):
I've been trying to get an exchange for a faulty laptop since February. I bought it for my mum for Christmas, she's old, so she didn't notice there was a 'smudge' on the screen until it 'grew' like branches. The Geek Squad advised us to have it checked by Dell since it's under the manufacturer's warranty. We sent it to Dell. Dell said they can replace it but Best Buy has to send it back to Dell under their name. The laptop was returned and then sent to Best Buy/Geek Squad. (They said they'll 'waive' the $60 shipping fee... Dell literally told them that the warranty stuff is under Best Buy. So, of course, they need to pay for the shipping fee for a faulty laptop purchased at that location.) Now, Geek Squad calls us and claims it's OUR fault the laptop was damaged and now they are demanding payment. What a mess and a complete joke.
Kyle Thompson (2025-05-05, 12:25 p.m.):
The Geek Squad telephone representative didn't understand a bloody thing I was saying. I'm there like, "the picture on the screen keeps flipping," and they're all, "oh, so your telly won't turn on?" It was like a scene from a bad comedy, lasted a whole 10 minutes it did. Took a bloomin' week for someone to even take a gander at it...and here I am still twiddling me thumbs waiting for a repair or update. Life's too short for this hassle, not worth the bother, innit?
Jeremy Sullivan (2025-05-04, 7:13 a.m.):
I dropped off my phone for a screen protector replacement and they said it would take over 20 minutes. I came back 45 minutes later and they hadn't even started. By that time, I just took my phone and left.
Shirley Ortiz (2025-04-27, 5:33 a.m.):
The sales chap said aye, the techie arrived and said it was nae possible to connect the telly. Arranged for another day, but the lad never turned up. Phoned the customer service line with a 1-hour wait, managed to get another appointment. The lad arrived 5 hours behind schedule. Is BestBuy becoming the next Bath and Beyond??
Gary Graham (2025-04-23, 12:46 a.m.):
Not too savvy with the tech gadgets, mate.
Rebecca Moore (2025-04-18, 2:28 a.m.):
Terrible customer service, I must say. They kept on charging my credit card $20 every month even after assuring me that the service was done. When I asked for a refund, they flat out refused and that was the end of it!! Extremely annoying, and I swear I won't be purchasing anything from them or Best Buy ever again. If all they care about is money, then they can forget about my business.
Ethan Stewart (2025-04-17, 10:01 p.m.):
This company is simply dreadful. I've been shelling out for computer protection for four years. They terminated my subscription without a word of warning. And now that I need to upgrade my computer, I can't benefit from the protection plan I paid for. I've forked out $1523.68 over the years for peace of mind and replacement coverage. But do I receive a refund? No chance. Can I utilize any of those funds? Not at all. It's a case of them taking advantage of folks who trust them with their money.
Diane Patterson (2025-04-15, 12:35 p.m.):
I purchased a Fitbit in May 2022 and also got the extended warranty. The Fitbit started acting up in March and when I called for help, I was guided through a reset by Fitbit. But now it's acting up again, and even after following the reset instructions, no luck. I took it back to Best Buy and was told to contact Geek Squad. I did, and after waiting for a long time on the call, they said they would send me an envelope to return it. But that envelope never arrived. I called Geek Squad again, and the wait times have been all over the place - from 15 minutes to 11 minutes to 30 minutes to 60 minutes before I can talk to someone. Absolutely terrible service. I returned the Fitbit within its 1-year warranty period and still have time left on the extended warranty. This is hardly protection. It feels like a scam - the product should have been replaced in the store. Very disappointing. The Fitbit doesn't adjust well to time zone changes, and Geek Squad hasn't honored the warranty I paid for.
