Our cottage reservation was unilaterally rescheduled without our consent, and we were slapped with a $235 cancellation fee! To make matters worse, the manager's demeanor was shockingly impolite. We never gave the green light to rebook the cottage; it was done on their end, and we were billed accordingly. My sincere advice is to steer clear of them at all costs.

I say, there ought to be 0 Stars!!! I've perused a few other reviews and lo and behold, encountered the same issues time and time again. We hired the cottage just three weeks ago, and lo and behold, we encountered the same problem. Wear and tear, a part got worn out on the foosball table. We endeavored to do right and fix it. The 247 rental company chose to embark on a spending spree and ceased responding to our emails, failing to return our $1000 deposit. It required endless emails, phone calls, and messages to get back what was rightfully ours!
I advise you steer clear of their rentals unless you fancy additional stress and unprofessional service. Shocking service! 👎👎

Just gone by, we hired a cottage at 36 Elgin Road on Boulter Lake for a whole week in August. Upon our arrival, we found that the paddleboat wasn't working despite what was promised on the spec sheet. Shortly after, we realized that the fridge couldn't be adjusted to stop our veg from freezing.
As we were getting ready to leave, the cleaners (I reckon they were the owners) rang the doorbell at noon (the check-out time as advertised). I asked them to come in and look around all the rooms that had been cleaned thoroughly, except the kitchen where we were finishing up packing. They declined to come inside and instead sat in their vehicle parked in the driveway. They could have started checking the outside of the property at noon as well. We left the house by 1 PM and needed an extra 15 minutes to organize the car before leaving the driveway.
Imagine my surprise when CottageRentals247 told us we were being charged $60 for a late check-out. Even though we gave them every chance to start their inspection at noon, they chose not to. I've stayed in hotels, Airbnbs, and hostels all over the world and have never been charged for leaving an hour late before.
When we asked how we would be compensated for the unusable paddleboat and ruined produce, Josh, the President of CottageRentals247, said "it's too late for that."
This kind of service is just terrible and the management is completely incompetent.

As a businessman, I recommend you make sure your information is correct and the facts are accurate. You're mistaken when you say I rented a cottage from you in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018. This was the first year I rented a cottage directly from you. Last year, I shared a rental with my sister. She has rented from you in previous years, not me. If you want positive feedback, it's better to contact her directly.

My top tip for fellow renters would be to report any damages or issues straight away by giving them a tinkle or sending a snap to 247 pronto, to ensure a swift resolution.
Furthermore, let's not forget to show respect for the check-out time at the cottage. Those who dilly-dally and arrive late are akin to those dawdling in a pub at the airport while a whole plane full of folks wait for their boarding call. And lastly, let's remember to be considerate "cottage guests". During those blissful 1 or 2 weeks, let's treat that cottage as if it were our own humble abode. Cheers!

The cottage we hired was alright, but the service from the owner left much to be desired. They were quite rude and accused us of damaging the property with frivolous claims. Renting a cottage always involves some risk, but charging over $200 for minor issues seems excessive. I would recommend using Airbnb instead, as they offer better support. The owner may get defensive reading this, which only confirms their unfair behavior!
