Canadian Tire has always been my go-to store for both household and automotive needs, this store does not disappoint.

Normally this shop is just fine, but during a massive sale on Saturday around noon, there were No Cashiers available at all, except for customer service, leading to a huge queue. And when someone eventually did come to open a register, she grumbled and complained about it. Not acceptable in the slightest.

They never seem to have what I'm looking for. They don't stock items like the Canadian Tires in Moncton and Dieppe. Their carts are old, rusty, and often broken. It seems like inexperienced kids are always the ones working there, who don't know much about bicycles or anything in general. I wouldn't recommend this particular Canadian Tire to anyone.

Absolutely dreadful store, I must say. Popped in for some bits to fix up a leaky pipe, only to find they had closed early even though the sign clearly stated they were open for another 10 minutes! The manager outright refused to let me nip in to grab the 2 items I needed, despite there being customers inside browsing away. Won't be setting foot in that place again, mark my words!

There was no knowledgeable staff available to assist us with our purchase. We approached 2 young men who were working there, and neither of them knew anything. One young man simply turned around and walked away, while the other just stared at us blankly.

Caution should be taken when shopping at this establishment, as it appears that their employees are not required to wear masks. On several occasions, I have witnessed young male staff members stocking shelves without masks. Despite politely requesting that they wear one, I have been met with flimsy excuses. When I persist, they become rude and confrontational, prompting me to seek out a manager or older employee who will enforce the mask policy. Only then do they reluctantly comply. In one instance, another customer even insulted me for expressing concern about the health and safety of vulnerable individuals, such as my 85-year-old father with COPD and diabetes, who shops here. It is important for the public to know that this store does not prioritize safety measures for Covid-19. During a visit to the paint counter, I refused assistance from a young, unmasked worker. As a senior myself, I refuse to tolerate such disregard for safety and will be taking my business elsewhere. If possible, I would rate this store 0 stars.

I'd sooner exchange a $55 purchase than refund the $15 for an incorrectly priced item. They're blaming a faulty tag, but somehow miraculously fixed it to show the accurate item and price. Save yourself the trouble and consider visiting Moncton or Truro instead of that place.

I rang up the service department at this CTC store and Tyler was ever so professional over the phone. I must say, his kindness left quite an impression on me. Dealing with Annie the manager was an absolute joy. Hailing from out of town, I must give a 5-star rating for the stellar phone service and information provided. Bravo to the Service Team at CTC Amherst!

My daughter bought something for her father, you know. It was missing an important part, oh my! When she went to get another one, there were none left, can you believe it? She found something similar and then it was exchanged, all sorted out in the end.

I purchased some winter tires and had a conversation with the dealer about using the new TPMS. I was assured that they deal with TPMS all the time and it wouldn't be a problem. They mentioned that if I got the tires but had them mounted elsewhere, I wouldn't receive the road hazard warranty or any warranties beyond what the manufacturers offer. With those assurances, I decided to bring in the rims and new TPMS for them to mount the tires and put them on the car. I had asked if I could drop off the rims and TPMS early to have them mounted ahead of time and avoid a long wait, and they agreed to this. However, when I arrived for my appointment, the tires weren't mounted. I ended up getting them mounted on the spot and scheduled another appointment in two days to have them put on the car.

When the tires were finally put on the car, they couldn't program the TPMS and claimed they had mentioned that before. I paid the bill and when I reviewed it at home, there was no mention of any road hazard warranty. I went back to ask for clarification, and they listed the road warranty under 'replacement ad' and charged me $50 for it. They provided a summary of the warranty, which turned out to only be honored at Canadian Tire stores. I usually don't bother with insurance like that as I don't see the need for it and was under the impression it was included.

I try to support local businesses, but this service manager didn't meet my expectations. I now have to go to a Toyota dealer to get the TPMS programmed.

In an update, I did respond to Canadian Tire as requested. The initial customer service rep was great and showed empathy towards my issues. I was then passed on to the automotive representative, who called me a week later after discussing the situation with the service manager. Our conversation turned into a bit of a back-and-forth as he described their investigation. He thought the replacement option was a good deal if ever needed and mentioned other parts of the warranty that I wasn't aware of. He said the TPMS programming would have cost the same regardless, but agreed to send me a gift card for the amount I paid to Toyota (still waiting for that 10 days later).

As I wanted to understand the 'replacement ad' and what it entailed, I reached out to the service representative again, who informed me that the warranty was available online and that the service envelope had all the details. Upon reviewing the service envelope, I discovered that I did have road hazard warranty, and the $59 warranty was solely for tire replacement if necessary, with additional costs for mounting and balancing. I decided to cancel this warranty, which I easily did at a local Canadian Tire store.

Lesson learned: always ask for all warranties and costs upfront. If you have new dealer items, take them to the dealer for installation. If needed, representatives from Canadian Tire can help address any issues.

You missed out on a $300.00 sale today, and I shall never patronize this establishment again. I shall instead make the 45-minute drive to Truro.

I felt like the lady was feeding me a line at the automotive department. How can you operate a Canadian Tire store without public facilities? I'll be saving my fishing budget for Bass Pro in Moncton.
