Could you kindly explain why it takes over 24 hours to prepare a single item for collection when ordered online? What if we urgently require the items? Do you consider this to be satisfactory customer service? Personally, I do not. I am aware that these are challenging times, but if you are unable to expedite the preparation of items for collection, perhaps consider hiring additional staff.

What a lovely department store. I haven't visited it since they opened the new store. The staff is so friendly and helpful, especially in assisting me with finding the large item I was looking for.

Top-notch service for fixing a flat tire. They were quick to assist me and had the job completed in just 15 minutes. Big thanks to Lloyd and the team!
Donald Smith (2025-07-19, 5:35 a.m.):
The staff is really lovely and helpful. If you can't find what you're looking for in the Ottawa stores, make sure to give this place a visit. They will most likely have it in stock.

This here is a mighty fine Canadian Tire, right next to a Staples, you know. I ain't never had no troubles finding whatever I need. And let me tell ya, that truck in the parking lot serves up some top-notch sausages, hotdogs, poutine, and the works.

The folks workin' there are as friendly as can be, always ready to lend a hand. I gotta say, it blows my mind every time I ask 'em where I can find a certain item that might be on sale that week. More often than not, they'll point me to the right aisle without missin' a beat. And them sale prices? Well, let me tell ya, they're somethin' else. You can't beat those discounts, 70, 80% off? Yes, sir!

Yesterday I popped into the department store to grab a few things, and while browsing around, a chap named Murray from the staff approached me to offer his assistance. I was checking out some clothes at the time, and he kindly pointed out that the specific item I was eyeing would be on sale in the upcoming weeks. When it came to the item I initially came in for, not only did he locate it for me, but he also mentioned there was a more affordable option in stock, so he made sure to get it down for me. Outstanding customer service with a cheerful attitude!

Pat, the service manager, was brilliant. I was in a pickle on my way to the cottage and he went above and beyond to ensure my vehicle was roadworthy until I could come back on Sunday to have it properly repaired.

I must say I had quite the unpleasent experience at CT today. Shirley, a heavy-set old lady with glasses, was incredibly rude and unfriendly during my visit. It was not just a one-time thing, as Shirley has displayed this behavior on multiple occasions. If I could rate her, it would be a solid 0. I will definitely avoid returning if possible.

I am hoping that she will be reprimanded for her behavior, as it was completely uncalled for. It is important for employees in customer service to be friendly and at least decent when interacting with customers. I tried to address a minor issue with her, and instead of handling it professionally, she responded with aggression and rudeness. She even went as far as harassing other customers over a dog that had barked twice, even though the dog had already stopped by the time she intervened. Her actions were excessive and unnecessary.

Furthermore, Shirley was not even in uniform or wearing any identification that would signify her as an employee with authority to make such demands. This made her seem like just a regular person causing trouble in the store. If she is not even properly identified or on shift, how can she have any authority? It may be time for her to consider retirement or being let go from the company.

I have provided more details in the survey on my receipt. I hope that my feedback will be taken into consideration and that appropriate action will be taken regarding Shirley's unprofessional behavior. Thank you.

Loads of items on sale! Loads of staff were available to assist me in finding the items I actually came to the store to buy.
Teresa Graham (2025-06-30, 11:12 p.m.):
I went on the web/app and saw the price reduced. When I got to the store, the price was not reduced. They wouldn't match the price listed online, so I ended up shopping on Amazon instead.

UPDATE: Attention all shoppers - a word to the wise when purchasing items from Canadian Tire that require gasoline to operate. If you find that the item is not in working order after adding gas and wish to pursue an exchange or return, be aware that you may encounter complications. A recent incident involving a $5400 mower, which had been in our possession for less than 2 hours, revealed that Canadian Tire's responsibility ends once fuel has been added. It is now incumbent upon us to locate a Husqvarna dealer who may honor the warranty. Despite our purchase being made at Canadian Tire and the short duration of ownership, the onus is now squarely on us.
Ethan Morales (2025-06-27, 12:49 p.m.):
I waited an eternity for service, and the vehicle system never seems to have the correct parts for my VW. Quite frustrating! On top of that, they mistakenly installed the wrong oil filter in my new car, which nearly caused serious damage. They continuously tried to shift the blame to headquarters, where they supposedly resolved the issue but then proceeded to overlook me when it came to refunding the money owed. If I had the option, I would give them 0 stars. Buyer beware.
Jesse Thomas (2025-06-26, 5:25 a.m.):
I do quite fancy this Canadian Tire. It may not be as grand as the one in Kanata, but it certainly stocks all the essentials I require. And should they happen to be out of stock, I can have them delivered to the store, usually arriving the next day or within the week. Simply marvelous. Really, every visit is a pleasant experience for me ☺️
Michael Carter (2025-06-24, 3:47 a.m.):
I recently had my tires fitted and a wheel alignment done at the department store. I must say, Pat and his service team were absolutely top-notch! They took the time to explain everything clearly and even showed me underneath my car to provide some useful advice. Their friendly and expert approach really stood out. A huge thank you to them for their excellent service.
Amelia Perry (2025-06-22, 8:51 p.m.):
Amazing small-town service and there's always someone available to assist with whatever you need. I've never had anything less than a fantastic experience whenever I visit.
Sean Walker (2025-06-21, 11:39 a.m.):
I recently tried to exchange a battery booster pack/small air compressor combo unit that I had purchased earlier in the year, only to discover a manufacturer's defect on one of the pieces when I finally needed to use it after it had been sitting in the box for a few months. With a 1-year warranty in hand, I approached the customer service staff at the department store where I made the purchase. Despite agreeing that the item was almost new and showed no signs of abuse, they were unable to assist me due to my lack of a receipt, which I had left behind while traveling.

I proposed a simple solution: replacing the faulty tire valve adapter, but I was met with the same response: "Without any paperwork, I can't do anything for you." Feeling frustrated, I turned to the customer service manager and asked them to dispose of the $150 tool in the recycling bin, as it had become useless to me without the necessary support.

It was a disappointing experience, as the department store's policy seemed to prioritize paperwork over customer satisfaction.
Michelle Hamilton (2025-06-20, 7:35 p.m.):
I popped into the department store on a busy Saturday morning. I found myself in a queue at the cash register, with only one cashier working. The customer service desk also had just one cashier attending to a long line of 10 customers behind me. It left me wondering why they bothered investing in multiple checkout stations if they were going to have such minimal staff working. This wasn't my first time experiencing this frustrating situation here.
Kyle Phillips (2025-06-16, 2:33 a.m.):
I was assisted by a delightful older chap with spectacles who was incredibly helpful and had a great sense of humor. It's always a pleasure to receive such wonderful service from such a kind employee!
Nathan Green (2025-06-15, 9:03 p.m.):
I've had multiple vehicles serviced by Pat and his team over the past few years. Fast, precise, capable service. It wasn't always like this, but now they're a top-notch automotive service team. It's fantastic to have this option nearby.

(And the owner has made the store dog-friendly. The staff are amazing.)
Gary Hall (2025-06-14, 3:53 a.m.):
I always find meself strugglin' to locate what l need when l visit this establishment. I was in need of transmission fluid for me motor carriage and all they had were those Motomaster brands. Never again will l be usin' any Canadian Tire oils in me vehicles, mark me words.

I was also in the market for a grass trimmer, but all they had were those flimsy toy models that would surely break within a fortnight. In me honest opinion, it's nothin' more than an expensive, overpriced dollar store.
