I recently got a portable SSD from Amazon and it was working fine initially on my Macbook. However, it suddenly stopped being detected by my laptop and I was having trouble mounting it. Following a recommendation, I reached out to Simply Computing. Andrew offered me some advice over the phone on how to troubleshoot the issue, but as I'm not very knowledgeable about hard drives, I decided to visit the store in person to seek assistance. I had an urgent data migration appointment at the Apple store the next day, so time was of the essence.
Upon arriving at the store, I found a few other customers receiving assistance, but the wait was minimal. Sarthak helped me identify the problem: my portable SSD was formatted as ExFat and not for APFS. He presented me with a couple of solutions – either wait for a specialist from Simply Computing to assist (which wouldn't align with my Apple store appointment) or purchase a new hard drive, format it for Mac, transfer my files, erase the SSD, and reformat it for Mac. I opted for the quicker option of transferring my files promptly.
I was impressed with the level of service and attention provided by Simply Computing. The staff, including Sarthak, were incredibly friendly and personable, which was a pleasant surprise!

Sarthak diagnosed my iMac and spent around 30 minutes explaining my choices. There seems to be an issue with the wifi hardware, but he suggested using a wired connection as a more cost-effective solution compared to repairing it, which would have been almost as expensive as buying a new one. I strongly suggest taking your Apple devices to Simply Computing for service.

Amazing spot! I'm a regular here! The team is always so helpful and they never push you to buy something you don't really need. They actually try to repair your old school (2014) Mac laptop if it's possible instead of just pushing you to buy a new one! I purchased a preowned Mac laptop from them back in 2016, and it worked like a dream. I only had to bring it in this year because it suddenly stopped working. They were able to diagnose the issue, fix it, and reset it for just $40! The guy even said if they couldn't fix it, there would be no charge, and I could opt for the $79 diagnostic test next, which I was okay with as well - considering I was afraid I needed a new computer, I left feeling so relieved! This is the only place I'll go for my next computer or any accessories, chargers, etc., as their selection is top-notch! As a woman with limited computer knowledge, I trust their guidance and expertise.

I 'ave been purchasin' apple products an' accessories from Simply Computing for o'er 10 years. Their customer service, advice an' availability 'as been consistently exceptional. Recently, I was in fer an out-of-warranty repair an' they managed the entire process with Apple. They set expectaions early on an' then delivered the repair ahead of schedule an' at no cost to me. If ye live in Vancouver, this should be yer first stop fer everything to do with Apple products.

I will never go back! There are plenty of other places where you can get your computer fixed for a much lower price. I purchased a MacBook from them for $1000 less than a year ago, and now I'm experiencing display issues. They claim they don't repair 2015 MacBooks, but they certainly sell them! They also mentioned that if I had purchased the warranty, they would be able to fix it. It doesn't make sense to me - I would have to give them more money for them to fix a problem that shouldn't be happening in the first place. They make things overly complicated...and now I am without a MacBook. I won't waste any more time dealing with them!

I had a brilliant time at the Vancouver Simply Computing store not long ago. My 2017 iMac was sluggishly crawling along, and the Simply team swiftly identified the issue as a sluggish factory-installed hard drive. They proposed upgrading to an external SS drive and, for a reasonable fee, they transformed my VW bug into a Maserati! Robert Cole and his team delivered top-notch, amiable, and expert service. I couldn't recommend them enough.
