I have to amend my review from 5 stars four years ago to a measly 1 star - it ought to be zero! After my recent visit to the post office on September 23, 2022 to renew my PO box, as a senior citizen with respiratory issues, I encountered numerous problems. However, the pinnacle of frustration came when a postal worker instructed me to go to my bank and get them to print out my address as proof, despite having official mail from Service Canada. I was absolutely livid when I witnessed another customer easily confirming their address by showing a photo of their paycheck on their phone. There seems to be no point in lodging a complaint with Canada Post, and I sorely miss the former staff members who were much more competent.

If I could give zero stars, I definitely would. A mistake made by the shipper led to an incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate experience during my visit to the post office. I was verbally harassed and publicly embarrassed for not having the correct name on the package. The performance that the young blonde attendant put on was shocking and she should be dismissed. Furthermore, there was a heated argument about me involving the two blonde women with short hair, and even the older woman joined in without any reason, behaving like a bully. Their lack of respect and nonsensical behavior was simply unbelievable. The only positive aspect was the two kind gentlemen who handled the situation calmly, professionally, and responsibly. The manager provided me with his personal email, asked for a detailed account of the incident, and apologized on behalf of the staff. I have never witnessed such behavior before – it is disheartening to see individuals in customer service lose their composure and act in such a childish manner. There seems to be some issues behind the scenes that need addressing, and it may be time for those two ladies to consider retiring. If those individuals happen to see me coming in for my mail, please stay away.

So, last week I received a mailer stating that there would be extended holiday hours starting today. I showed up with a bunch of parcels at 5:30 pm TODAY only to find everything tightly locked. Why bother putting these in the mailbox if the hours aren't actually extended? I'm not keen on giving any stars, but it seems a star must be given to post. This is not even worth a single star, zero stars from me.

I do say, I must express my displeasure with a rare and exquisite zero-star rating. Indeed, the holiday spirit has been quite dampened by the mishandlings of the postal service. My dear daughter residing in Banff finds herself without her Christmas present, as your establishment, for the past four days, hath neglected to dispatch her parcel, for which I had paid handsomely for expedited delivery. Alas, her package hath languished there for a full four days! When she ventured forth to inquire about its whereabouts, she was met with the most uncivil treatment by the individual on duty. I vow never to patronize Canada Post henceforth. Verily, you have played the part of Scrooge in this festive season, caring naught for the joy of others so long as your own family enjoys a merry Christmas!

I must say, the corruption is rampant at the post office. I was asked to pay to renew my PO Box simply because I reside in staff accommodation, whereas many of my colleagues living in the same place had their renewals processed without charge. This level of service is simply dreadful.

This post office facility received my son's Christmas package on December 12th. It is still there, without being scanned, and my son is still without his Christmas gifts nearly a whole month later on his first Christmas away from home. I sent the package a month ago from Ontario, and it only took 5 days to get to Calgary. It was then loaded onto a truck in Calgary and is currently languishing in some storage room, untouched. This is completely unacceptable! My son keeps encountering obstacles when he inquires about his package. It is disheartening to see that I am not the only one facing similar issues. I understand the challenges posed by Covid, but there is no valid reason for this negligence. Please ensure that the packages are processed and scanned promptly so that our children can finally enjoy their Christmas presents!

I must say, the woman with the glasses at the post office is truly the most difficult individual I have ever encountered. I ventured to collect a parcel registered in my name, and she adamantly refused to inspect the box, instructing me to return home. Confronting her for complicating matters and her discourteous behavior towards me, she vehemently denied any wrongdoing and insisted that I had not been impolite. Numerous reviews corroborate that this same lady with the glasses exhibits poor customer service skills. I will be sorely disappointed if no action is taken. She could benefit from coaching on how to excel in a customer service role or perhaps she should consider seeking alternative employment. Never before have I experienced the audacity of being told, "I shall not reveal the package to you, kindly depart," especially when the package was rightfully designated under my name the entire time.

I've been experiencing some trouble with the Banff Post Office recently. Over the past few weeks, my mail has been returned for no apparent reason. I can prove that the envelopes and package were correctly addressed, yet the manager seemed to dismiss my concerns when I brought it to their attention. The individual returning my mail even wrote on the envelopes saying it wasn't meant for me, which is completely untrue.

This behavior is quite out of character for the post office I've relied on for the past 35 years, and I was disappointed by the manager's response, blaming it on a supposed clerical error. It's hard to believe this could happen multiple times without any explanation. All I wanted was for the manager to address this issue with the responsible person and see the evidence I had, but they simply brushed it off and ended the conversation abruptly.

What are my options now? The manager suggested filing a complaint with customer service and following the process, which feels like a generic response rather than a genuine solution. I expected better customer service after being a loyal customer for so long. Thank you for your lack of assistance!

I don't quite grasp all these negative reviews. I thought I'd share my own experience here.

I've been using this post office for almost 5 years now and have always felt welcomed. The staff have been incredibly helpful and friendly to me. I have never had a negative experience here at all. In my opinion, the service is great. On several occasions, the staff have gone above and beyond for me, especially when I've had missing packages. I appreciate the work you do and commend you for dealing with ungrateful and impatient individuals who post negative reviews here. Thank you.

I must say, all the folks in this establishment are usually quite pleasant and welcoming. However, on this occasion, I found myself being assisted by a lady who, might I add, is the only female I've encountered at the front desk. To my dismay, she seemed to roll her eyes when I mentioned not having a tracking number or when inquiring about a parcel. Her customer service skills were dismal, especially compared to her amiable colleagues.

I've lived all over the world, and let me tell you, Banff Post Office is without a doubt the worst I've ever encountered. Whenever I'm expecting a letter, I find myself waiting in an absurdly long line only to be informed that there's no post for me. Some of the employees are rather unfriendly and incredibly slow. Why must one line up just to receive an envelope and then line up again to send it off? Today, I queued up only to be told that my item wasn't on site. Yet, when I checked Amazon and Canada Post online, it clearly stated that my parcel was present and waiting for collection. So, I brace myself for another line, and lo and behold, there it is! Additionally, training new staff during peak hours is downright nonsensical. And please, if your employees feel the need to gossip and chat in the back, at least ensure that they're out of sight from the customers waiting in line.

Well, let me just say, this post office is quite the sight to behold. If you really have no other choice, then go ahead and pay them a visit. But let me tell you, their opening hours are like a rollercoaster - one week they're open, the next week who knows! And don't even get me started on the lines, you better set aside a good 30-40 minutes just for that. Personally, I'm a local resident who needs a PO Box, but I avoid any sort of interaction with the staff there. I find it much easier to just hop over to Canmore instead.

They deliver right quick to wherever you need your parcel sent. However, receiving mail in Banff can be a bit tricky as ordering online and having it shipped to your address results in it being labeled as undeliverable, even though other delivery services have no trouble locating my place. I'm not quite sure what's going on there. Apart from that, Canada Post provides great service. Cheers!

I've been living in Banff for quite a while now, and I'm a regular at the post office for both my work and personal mail needs. Every now and then, you might catch the person at the counter on a bit of a rough day, but hey, we all have those, don't we? The folks there really put in the effort, aiming to help you swiftly and wearing a smile while at it. They're not the only business in Banff facing challenges with short-staffing, and they shouldn't take the blame for mail with unclear addresses. Top marks for their hard work!

I must say, I can't quite recall the lady's name, but she had a charming French accent. Throughout my time in line, she appeared rather disinterested and treating her work as a burden. A few young girls ahead of me were struggling to send their mail, and she seemed quite exasperated having to assist them. When it was finally my turn, she swiftly brushed off any inquiries I had, displaying a lack of enthusiasm and being rather curt and impolite. On the other hand, the gentleman beside her was notably courteous and attentive. It's a pity there aren't more like him around.

I reckon there's this new policy, seems to be just for Banff, you know. They don't even bother delivering stuff in the first place. And get this, if a package comes in with a street address instead of a PO box number, they'll just send it back to the sender. Even if it's only a stone's throw away from where it should go, off it goes back to Europe or China. Not the best, I'd say. Four thumbs down for sure.

I must say, I was rather disappointed with my recent experience at this particular post office. It seems that they have a rather inflated sense of self-importance. I encountered some issues when trying to collect parcels as part of the general delivery service, simply because the address on the parcels matched the postal code of the post office. It became quite a saga, with the parcel bouncing between multiple postal stations before ultimately being returned due to a mismatch in the postal code. While Silas did his best to assist, the rest of the staff were rather impolite and inflexible. I have taken the step of escalating this matter to the CEO of Canada Post in Ottawa, Mr. Doug Ettinger, in the hope that improvements can be made.
