Carolyn Sanchez (2025-06-04, 7:32 a.m.):
I visited the department store to buy a new wiper for my car. Struggled to find it, so I approached an employee to inquire about the whereabouts of the small kiosk computer pad used to look up the correct wiper size. The employee informed me that the store no longer has them, and directed me to the automotive service desk for help.

It's a shame that the small kiosk system has been done away with. It made the process of buying a wiper much more time-consuming and complicated.

I popped by here in June, enticed by a barbecue offer with a financing option. Upon reaching the customer service desk, the lady there had us linger as she fetched the manager. After a 20-minute wait, she brusquely glared at us and remarked, "You do realize you can't use this credit card today, right?" I presented her with the flyer clearly stating same-day approval. However, she proceeded to dismiss us outright and exhibit rude behavior. Upon reaching out to Leamington Canadian Tire, they confirmed they offer same-day approvals and were puzzled as to why we received such treatment from another store. From the moment we arrived at the customer service desk, we felt unwelcome.

We lodged a formal complaint, but alas, no actions were taken.

The garden centre staff were jolly and accommodating. A chap merrily and promptly assisted in loading various bags of soil into my lorry. He had everything set to go as soon as I arrived. Cheers!

Quite a decent store. It can be a bit tricky to find a staff member to assist you, though.

Spent a good 20 minutes wandering about trying to locate the automotive air filters. Felt a bit like I had lost me marbles, to be honest. Eventually threw in the towel and asked a lass in the clearance aisle if she had any notion of their whereabouts, only to find out she was as clueless as a fish out of water and added that they keep shifting things around. Went over to the parts counter, and learned that all the filters are stashed at the rear now and you must have a hand getting hold of one. Wasn't presented with any other options, just the motomaster filter. It didn't bother me none since it wasn't for me own vehicle, but I do prefer Fram filters as they've never let me down. Can't rightly figure out why they decided to tuck the filters away at the back, as I can't imagine folks pinching them left and right, but it sure was a frustrating ordeal.

My lad was at the department store and got a bit of a telling-off from one of the staff members for not keeping his distance from a colleague he works with. Bit embarrassing, if you ask me. No need for them to announce over the tannoy to clear out if folks can't keep their 6 feet apart. Personally, I reckon I'll be making the trip to Walker from now on.

I bought a pan set on sale for Christmas at the Amherstburg location. The following week, a better set was on sale but there was no stock available at that store. I went to the Leamington location to purchase it, and while I was there, I returned the original set I had bought in Amherstburg without any issue. I also bought a vacuum cleaner during that visit. After Christmas, my husband and I tried to return the vacuum cleaner at the closest Amherstburg store because we didn't like it. However, they were unhelpful and refused to accept the return, despite us having the receipt and the product in its original packaging. So we had to drive all the way back to the Leamington location, where they accepted the return without any questions. Canadian Tire's policy states that you can return items to any location, so I was very disappointed in how we were treated at the Amherstburg store. I will still shop at Canadian Tire, but I'll make the extra effort to go to the Leamington store to support a business that values its customers.
Timothy Bailey (2025-05-24, 3:25 p.m.):
I found the selection of products at this store to be very limited, with some items damaged and little help from the staff or management. I prefer to find the products I need at the store on Walker Road or in Essex instead.
Kathleen James (2025-05-24, 11:22 a.m.):
Oh, those Canadians are always changing up the department store layout to keep you on your toes and hunting around!

I bought LED bulbs for 50 cents each when our local Home Hardware store advertised rebates but didn't actually participate.
Was it a loss leader? It definitely worked because I ended up buying a new toaster at Canadian Tire.
Kyle Adams (2025-05-23, 11:36 p.m.):
I'm from the city and used to look forward to, and enjoying the drive out to this Canadian Tire (at the very least, a bi-weekly basis)... just for the simple fact of this stores cleanliness, available sale stock, friendly staff and... wait for it...customers! Such a huge difference from Windsor stores! Well...WAS a huge difference. The change I noticed was with the staff. They have what appears to be students working throughout the summer. Which don't get me wrong, is great... but that's if you actually have ones that want to work, or at least try to act like they don't mind being there. From the moment of walking up towards the cash register with my purchase, I could not only see the cashier's face when she looked back to a floor associate she was greatly engrossed in a conversation with at the time, but once putting my few items on the checkout, there was no denying she was annoyed to be interrupted. Further proven, when I actually hesitated to question an error on price when scanned. If it wasn't a $30 price difference from what the sticker in the aisle said, I wouldn't have even mentioned it. The young man (associate the cashier was conversating with) was very friendly and offered to go check the price. He came back and informed me someone forgot to remove an old sale sticker, and the cashier spoke up and said "do you still want it?" I said yes please, but only if it's being given at the sale price. She said "no, I can't change the price". I said, no thank you...paid for my other items, and left. Although I'm well versed in the scanning code of practice~ working in retail myself for over 20 years... I wasn't going to stand around, and hopefully wait for a more knowledgeable staff member to discount the item to advertised price. I am a seasonal camper in the area, and over the last 6 years of my trips into town, and getting to know quite a few students over the years inside that store. It's sad to say, I have noticed a huge decrease in customer service not just that last visit, but almost every visit this season. I might as well stick to Windsor, where the stores might be busy, and sometimes you're waiting on stock to arrive...but at least their South store has staff that doesn't treat you like an unwanted intruder and like they're doing you a favor by cashing you out.
Allison Diaz (2025-05-22, 9:03 a.m.):
They need to add more cashiers, especially at this time of year when it's always too busy. I do like the store, but I've had to leave many times because of the long lines.
Judy Reynolds (2025-05-20, 8:50 p.m.):
This shop 'as a dreadful customer service, I must say. They flat-out refused to swap me item for a different color and would only provide store credit at the lowest sale price they 'ad in their system. It might 'ave made sense if I were requesting a refund without a receipt, but I was simply tryin' to exchange for a product exclusive to Canadian Tire, you see.
Justin Adams (2025-05-20, 12:26 a.m.):
They 'ave everythin' ya need with a bloomin' massive selection, mate. Just don't go expectin' much help in any department, like, 'cause there ain't none to be found. The cashiers are always friendly, though. Cheers!
Samantha Russell (2025-05-16, 9:47 a.m.):
I 'ave 'ad me car serviced at different Canadian Tire locations in Windsor and Essex County for the last 20 years. I must say, the Amherstburg location be the top-notch automotive service provider among 'em all. They always give me top advice on car maintenance and provide very friendly service every time I pop in. Cheers to the folks at the Amherstburg location for keepin' me wheels runnin' smooth!
Marilyn Kelly (2025-05-15, 10:30 p.m.):
Had a jolly good shopping excursion. The chaps on staff were ever so helpful. All's tickety-boo.
Carol Jackson (2025-05-14, 1:50 a.m.):
Found what I needed, staff was very helpful.
Christina Perry (2025-05-13, 1:47 a.m.):
Only 1 cashier open and returns. They kept asking for backup to cash and no one. They then said service and people went there and lined up. Took forever to check out! Customer service was horrible!!!
Teresa Rogers (2025-05-12, 11:19 p.m.):
The cashier associate was quite lovely and swift to get the department associate involved for assistance. They were quite efficient and aided in loading the product into my vehicle without any prompting. It was a massive help, and I was pleasantly surprised by all the safety measures in place to protect everyone.
Kimberly Robinson (2025-05-12, 12:13 p.m.):
Lovely range of products - ample stock - cheerful team - plenty of parking!
