Terrific shop with a plethora of exquisite and one-of-a-kind goods. Many establishments in the bustling Banff tourist hub carry the same old wares... not this one. Handcrafted artworks, dream catchers, garments, footwear, cups, cards, and so much more. I departed with multiple treasures that I hold dear! My preferred store in Banff!!!

We came by during the summer and had a fantastic experience chatting with the incredibly friendly folks at the store. My daughter was smitten with two necklaces and picked one, but later wished she had grabbed both. Banff Trading Post went above and beyond in tracking down the piece she left behind and sending it to me just in time for Christmas. She'll be over the moon on Christmas morning! The staff here are truly kind and helpful; I highly suggest popping in if you find yourself in Banff!

What a fantastic store stocked with a plethora of one-of-a-kind treasures! From indigenous beadwork and moccasins to locally crafted soaps and exquisite furs, they truly had me captivated. For anyone seeking authentic Indigenous and locally made goods, this establishment comes highly recommended. The staff was incredibly welcoming, and I already can't wait to pay them another visit the next time I'm in YYC.

A marvelous spot for Indigenous artworks: leatherware, adornments, wooden sculptures, garb, postcards, and art. We make it a point to drop by each time we're in Banff.
The team is polite and accommodating, truly a delightful experience.

Oh, my goodness! The items in this shop are truly one-of-a-kind. The prices are quite reasonable, I must say. And the folks working there are just lovely.
Allison Murphy (2025-07-05, 8:25 a.m.):
I was keen on bringing my son to this place to see the Mer-man they've had on display for ages. The moment we stepped inside, he was in awe. Being a young hunter, he was captivated by all the taxidermy adorning the walls. And as if that weren't enough to catch his eye, he was taken with the indigenous beadwork, regalia, and crafts. He even found his first pair of moccasins here that he's already planning to pass down to his own kids one day (he's only 7). Though not a large store, it was bustling with activity, and we easily spent at least an hour there. He still raves about it and is eager to return. Big thanks to the owner for gifting us the sweet grass for our new home. This is truly a quintessential part of the Banff/Canadian indigenous artist showcase experience that no tourist should miss.
Walter Sullivan (2025-07-04, 9:05 p.m.):

Aaron Thomas (2025-07-04, 6:25 p.m.):
It's been quite a while since we visited the store 50 years back, and we were delighted to see that it is still a family-owned establishment.
Rachel Rivera (2025-07-04, 1:48 p.m.):
I've been shopping at this cozy trading post since I was a young lass, and it's only gotten better with time. If you're on the hunt for Banff souvenirs, indigenous artwork, or handcrafted treasures, look no further. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and the place has that charming old-world trading post feel. I highly suggest paying a visit – there's a wealth of history waiting to be discovered.

Established by Norman Luxton in 1903, The Trading Post boasts an impressive 118-year legacy. The Luxton family laid the foundation from 1903 to 1961.
Janet Brown (2025-07-04, 1:35 a.m.):

Mia James (2025-07-03, 3:37 p.m.):
This spot right here has quickly become one of my favorites, never disappoints! The food is absolutely amazing every time 🤤...
Noah Simmons (2025-07-03, 7:51 a.m.):
Lovely folks and spot. Perfect for picking up mementos. I'd steer clear of animal goods for ethical grounds, though.
Russell Walker (2025-07-02, 4:47 p.m.):
